AppraisalPilot

How-to 01

First look: where everything is and where to start

AppraisalPilot comes down to four things on day one: the bar across the top, What you have for the paperwork you already have, the report itself, and the Your report tab with the floating bar. To start, type the address in Subject Property or drop your engagement letter on its spot. In How-to 01, Josh Stalk, Licensed Residential Appraiser (NV), walks the screen top to bottom.

Where is everything, and where do I start?

  1. Sign in. Go to appraisalpilot.app and tap Sign in. Type your email and your password. Forgot password emails you a link.
  2. The bar across the top. It says Saving, then Saved. New starts a report. The book opens the Library. The clipboard opens your Comment Library. The three lines open your menu.
  3. What you have. Drop each thing you already have on its spot: engagement letter or order, subject property documents, purchase contract, comp sheet, photos, sketch. Or tap a spot to pick a file.
  4. The report. Every section of the new report, folded, Summary down to Certifications. Tap a section to open it.
  5. Your report tab and the floating bar. The navy tab on the left edge opens the left panel. The floating bar at the bottom has Find and Sections.
  6. Start the report. Type the address in Subject Property, or drop your engagement letter on its spot.

What trips people up?

A brand new report shows only four sections. It starts when it has an address, or when you drop in your first document.

There is no form to pick first, either. In Fannie Mae's and Freddie Mac's words, "the data that describes the subject property drives the appraisal report, not a form type/number."

Want it on paper? The How-to 01 Quick Start has these steps on one page.
