TOTAL and AppraisalPilot: how Export to TOTAL works

WatchExport to TOTAL, start to finish (1:41)

If you do your reports in TOTAL, you keep doing them in TOTAL. AppraisalPilot drafts the data first, and you review and approve it. Then you press Export to TOTAL, double-click the file, and the report opens in TOTAL with your subject details, your comps from your own MLS export and your photos with their captions already in the boxes. You finish, sign and deliver in TOTAL, like always.

Do I have to leave TOTAL?

No. AppraisalPilot works alongside TOTAL. Your report, your submission and your habits stay in TOTAL. AppraisalPilot does the drafting before you open the report.

How do I get it?

AppraisalPilot is live in the TOTAL Store. Cotality sells it there: a free trial with up to 25 exports to TOTAL, or Unlimited Exports to TOTAL for $30 a month, billed by Cotality, separate from the AppraisalPilot subscription. It is never included with AppraisalPilot and never automatic.

In the TOTAL Store, sign in with the same a la mode login your TOTAL runs on. That is how TOTAL knows you have it. Get AppraisalPilot in the TOTAL Store.

How do I export a report into TOTAL?

In AppraisalPilot:

  1. Review and approve the drafts.
  2. On the computer TOTAL is on, press Export to TOTAL. A .tdcx file downloads.

Then:

  1. Double-click the .tdcx file. TOTAL opens it.

Want it on one page? Open the Export to TOTAL Quick Start.

Everything AppraisalPilot drafts is for you to review and approve, and the opinion of value, adjustments and comparable weight are never drafted.

What if TOTAL says "no items available from this TOTAL Store merchant"?

TOTAL does not see AppraisalPilot on the login you are using. Go back to the TOTAL Store, sign in with the login your TOTAL runs on, get AppraisalPilot there, and double-click the file again.

Questions appraisers ask

Do I have to stop using TOTAL?

No. You do the new URAR in TOTAL. AppraisalPilot drafts the data first, and Export to TOTAL brings it into your report.

What does the TOTAL export cost?

Cotality sells it in the TOTAL Store, a free trial with up to 25 exports to TOTAL or Unlimited Exports to TOTAL for $30 a month, billed by Cotality, separate from the AppraisalPilot subscription.

Why won't TOTAL open my export?

If TOTAL says "no items available from this TOTAL Store merchant," it does not see AppraisalPilot on the login you are using. Sign in to the TOTAL Store with the login your TOTAL runs on, get AppraisalPilot there, and double-click the file again.
